HAPPENINS
I have not written for awhile now, so sorry about that. Lately there seems to be a lot of disasterous occurences filling the days...I could start out with today, and move backwards, mentioning that Pedro has once again sprianed his ankle very badly and after spending about 3 weeks cast-free from the last time, he returned to the emergency room today to have it re-casted for another month or so. The cast is seconded by the one he has in place on his lower arm for the broken pinky finger. So he's a wreck. Then, speaking of injuries, my knee has not ceased to bother me since the end of February, meaning that I haven't been able to train normally (or at all recently). So my whole world of cycling here, which means so much to me, is blotted out right now by this stupid medial collateral ligament which keeps tearing. I'm going to the doctor next week. Next, Poli (my best pal and bike team president) along with his girlfriend and my pal, Sonia, have been having a rather rough time of it lately. Poli has had to go to Fuerteventura to train for mock-battle's (hes a soldier if you can believe it) two weeks within the last month, has been sick a number of times, lost his Grandfather to Cancer, and, perhaps worst of all, recently had to put down his dog of 15 years due to cancer. Added to that, there were the attacks on the trains in Mardid. All of this in March.
But, you know why 'its all sunshine, its all sunshine, its nothin but sunshine'? My mother (lucy goose) and sis (the poods-meister) arrive on Monday night.....that's only four days away! They'll stay for a week, and we're going to travel all over the island together and enjoy some nice beach time.
Until next time...
