I realized today that I never mentioned having seen the small but mighty Kazhakistanian Alexander Vinokourov training up top by Teide, while aunt Susy and I drove past. He was fully decked out in his team telekom outfit, riding with another unidentified teammate and a guy from Credit Agricole. It was an undescribable sensation seeing this little man climbing, who from the television appears as a god. The photo is from last year's Tour de France, with Armstrong and Ullrich chasing in the background. Vinokourov ended the tour in third place.
